Nina Munteanu’s popular science book “Water Is…” was featured in Mississauga, Ontario’s Earth Market today. Run by Mississauga’s Environmental Division, the market, which hosted over thirty “green” vendors, educators and environmental organizations, also ran educational workshops on sustainability and green-living.
Workshops focused on empowering individuals and on individual action. Topics covered included: storm water management on private property ; local food system in the urban environment; and community safety through environmental design.

popular science book, Water Is… Munteanu began with water’s many anomalous properties and how most of these are directly responsible for water’s life-giving properties. She used the example of whales & trophic cascades to explain the cyclical nature of all ecosystems and water’s important role. She explained how we are all the water of our environment through the great cycling of water on our planet.
Nina Munteanu is an ecologist, limnologist and internationally published author of award-nominated speculative novels, short stories and non-fiction.
